Every woman’s wardrobe should have a pencil skirt. It is a classic article of clothing that never goes out of style and if worn properly looks good on every body shape. Besides nothing looks more feminine than a skirt.
Often when I ask someone how he/she is doing I get the same reply: “I am so busy. You know!”. Truth be told many of us have to work long hours and have much more on our plates, too. I understand. No, I truly do.
Happy Saturday! Another full week came to an end. I think I am slowly finding a good rhythm in my sewing and blogging. It feels nice to sew more again after the holiday season. I find myself enjoying it more and more. Sharing more projects on the blog is nice too.
Over the last 5 years that I have been sewing I always heard people say that they are afraid to do something, sew with knits, use a serger, sew a pair of jeans, a coat, pants, velvet, buttonholes you name it!
Usually, when I read the words variation or hack I think of some major pattern changes that make the original design close to unrecognizable.
One of the most common fears of home sewers is making buttonholes. Maybe they had some bad experiences or they are afraid of ruining a well-constructed garment. Whatever it is, it is holding their sewing back!
